Social Work Annual Fall Reception

The Department of Social Work, in collaboration with the Social Work Organization, will host  the  Annual Social Work Fall Reception on “Weaving Advocacy and Resiliency” on November 13th, 2013.  Key topics include “Effective and Efficacious Treatment of the Seriously Mentally Ill” by Ms. Liz James, LCSW, Clinical Director, Riverbend Center for Mental Health and “Recovery and Redemption: A Story of Resilience” by local author, Melissa Owens.  Social Work students, Jacob Ezell, will present on “Change, Growth, and Resilience: Successful Aging Explored", while Ashley Counts will talk about “Mental Illness and Substance Abuse”. The presentations will be followed by a networking reception. Licensed social workers and other social service professionals will receive continuing education hours (CEUS).
