Get Involved in the Miss UNA Competition
We are so excited that you are interested in the Miss University of North Alabama Competition! Miss UNA is an official preliminary Competition for Miss Alabama that has been a long-standing tradition here at UNA, and we are excited to add another great year to our 50 year history! It is our goal that through this great program we will support the mission of Miss America:
"To prepare the world for great women, and to prepare great women for the world."

All women at the University of North Alabama who will be 19 by December 2025 are eligible to compete. All you must do is fill out the Official Miss UNA Contract and complete the paperwork requirements. Paperwork will open in Septmeber, so please
Please note, the number of candidates will be limited to the first 21 women who turn in signed contracts to the Office of Student Engagement by October 20th at 4:30pm (GUC 163).
Below are the stages of competition, their descriptions and the percentages of scoring:
- Private Interview..............................................................30%
- Delegates will have a 10 minute interview in front of a panel of judges and will be asked a series of questions on general topics, current events, items from their resume, and from their Community Service essay. Each delegate will be introduced by the panelist chair and will take her position and immediately present a brief 30-second introduction/Community Service Initiative (CSI) overview. Upon the conclusion of this remark, the interview will begin.
- Talent/HERStory ..............................................................20%
- A candidates talent is personal choice of dance, vocal, instrumental, monologue, comedic, etc. that can be performed in 90 seconds.
- Health and Fitness.............................................................20%
- Individuals will wear athletic clothing and will walk the stage to show her commitment to health and fitness initiatives. A delegate's discipline and commitment to being physically healthy is key to success in all otherareas of life, and the rigors of representing the Miss America program as a national titeholder.
- On Stage Conversation.......................................................10%
- Individuals will be asked a single question onstage regarding the delegate's Community Service Initiative (CSI) and the response should not be longer than 30 seconds.
- Evening Wear....................................................................20%
- In this stage, delegate's entire look and stage presence is taken into consideration. The judges are looking for: overall first impression, sense of confidence, walk, posture, carriage and grace, personality, stage presence, and attire.

- Interest Meeting: Monday, October 7th @ 6:30pm in Student Engagement.
- Contract Due/Sign Up: Monday, October 21st by 6:30pm (Turn into Student Engagement)
- Orientation Meeting & Paperwork Due: Monday, October 21st @ 6:30pm in the SGA Chambers
- Headshots: TBD at Butler Studio
- Ring Design with Creative Jewelers: By Appointment in November
- Interview Workshop: November 11th from 6pm to 7pm in Student Engagement
- All Outstanding Miss UNA Paperwork Due: Friday, November 15th
- Mock Interviews: Tuesday, January 14th from 5pm to 8pm in Rogers Hall
- Rehearsal Days:
- Friday, January 17th - Opening Number
- Wednesday, January 22st - Fitness & Red Carpet
- Thursday, January 23nd - Talent & Interview & On Stage Conversation
- Friday, January 24th - Dress Rehearsal
