University Advising Services

The University of North Alabama’s University Advising Services offers comprehensive support to students, particularly those in their first and second years, as well as those undecided about their majors. Located on the second floor of Collier Library, University Advising Services provides personalized academic advising, transition assistance, and various academic and personal support services. Writing Center

The University of North Alabama’s Center for Writing Excellence provides free tutorial services to assist with writing and is housed on the second floor of Collier Library. The Center maintains International Tutor Training Program Certification, sponsored by the College Reading and Learning Association. This means that each writing consultant has specialized training and must undergo hours of detailed preparation and training to serve the needs of all students on campus, from undergraduate to graduate. Mathematics Learning Center

The University of North Alabama’s Mathematics Learning Center provides free tutoring services to support students enrolled in various mathematics courses. Located on the first floor of the Computing and Mathematics Building, the center offers both drop-in tutoring and scheduled 30-minute individual sessions. Tutor.com for UNA Students

Students can access free, on-demand, 24/7 online tutoring through Tutor.com, covering various subjects and providing features like essay review and feedback. To utilize this service, students can log in through any Canvas course and select “Tutor.com” from the menu options. TRIO Student Support Services

The University of North Alabama’s TRIO Student Support Services (SSS) is a federally funded program dedicated to assisting first-generation, low-income, and students with documented disabilities in achieving their undergraduate degrees. Located on the second floor of Collier Library, TRIO SSS offers comprehensive academic support, including mentoring, tutoring, and personalized success coaching. The program emphasizes a holistic approach to promote retention and graduation by addressing individual student needs. To join, students must be U.S. citizens or meet residency requirements, be enrolled or accepted for enrollment at UNA, and demonstrate a need for academic support. The University of North Alabama’s Aubrey & Annie Looney Disability Support Services provides comprehensive support and appropriate accommodations for students with learning, physical, and psychological disabilities. Scholarships

The University of North Alabama is committed to making education affordable and accessible for all students by offering a variety of scholarship opportunities. University support for student scholarships has increased by over 165% in the last five years, with 76% of new students receiving institutional scholarships averaging $4,700.
