"Picasso at the Lapin Agile" by Steve Martin

November 3, 4, 9, 10, and 11 @ 7:30 pm
November 5 and 12 @ 2:00 pm
George S. Lindsey Theatre

Winner! 1996 Outer Critics Circle Award, Best Off Broadway Play -- This long running Off Broadway absurdist comedy places Albert Einstein and Pablo Picasso in a Parisian cafe in 1904, just before the renowned scientist transformed physics with his theory of relativity and the celebrated painter set the art world afire with cubism. In his first comedy for the stage, the popular actor and screenwriter plays fast and loose with fact, fame, and fortune as these two geniuses muse on the century’s achievements and prospects, as well as other fanciful topics, with infectious dizziness. Bystanders, including Picasso’s agent, the bartender and his mistress, Picasso’s date, an elderly philosopher, Charles Dabernow Schmendiman, and an idiot inventor introduce additional flourishes of humor. The final surprise patron to join the merriment at the Lapin Agile is a charismatic dark-haired singer time warped in from a later era.

"The Mountaintop" by Katori Hall

February 25 @ 2 pm
Auditions: November 27 at 6:30 pm at the George S. Lindsey Theatre.  Callbacks on November 28, 6:30 pm.

The Mountaintop is a fictional depiction of the Reverend Martin Luther King Jr.'s last night on earth.  The entire play is set in room 306 of the Lorraine Motel on the eve of his assassination in 1968 after delivering his legendary “I’ve Been to the Mountaintop” speech.

"The Crucible" by Arthur Miller
April 6, 7, 12, 13, and 14 @ 7:30 pm
April 8 and 15 @ 2 pm
Auditions: January 22 at 6:30 pm at the George S. Lindsey Theatre.  Callbacks on January 23, 6:30 pm.

An undeniable classic of the American Theatre, The Crucible is story of love, honor, and the price of fear, set against the 1692 Witch Trail in Salem. When young girls are accused of dancing-with-the-devil, Abigail seizes the opportunity to accuse a community member of using witchcraft on her. Her ultimate goal is to win back the affection of John Proctor. Unfortunately, John and his wife, Elizabeth, soon become suspects of witchcraft themselves. Although playwright, Arthur Miller, wrote his Tony Award winning drama to illustrate the “Red Scare” and McCarthyism of 1950s America, The Crucible shows us the true destruction of any society that is built upon fear and bigotry.
