TRIO SSS Program Expectations
The TRIO SSS Program expects the following from every active participant(*):
- Maintain a 3.0 GPA or higher
- Students who fall below 3.0 GPA will be required to attend mandatory tutoring and check-ins with assigned TRIO advisor and Academic Coach
- Must attend a minimum of 2 TRIO events and/or workshops per semester**
- Must attend at least 2 advising session with TRIO advisor per semester***
- Attend all scheduled classes and regularly login to Canvas for online courses
- Read and respond to all TRIO emails and messages in a timely manner (within 48 hours)
- Work with TRIO advisor to develop an Individual Academic Success Plan (IASP)
- Contact TRIO staff prior to any changes in my enrollment, such as dropping from full time to part time or withdrawal from UNA for any reason
- All TRIO SSS participants must join:
- UNA TRIO SSS Canvas Course
- the University of North Alabama TRIO Student Support Services GroupMe
Note: New TRIO SSS participants are required to utilize any of our services within four (4) weeks of the program onboarding. Failure to utilize program services will result in being removed from the program. Other actions that can cause a participant to be removed as a TRIO SSS participant are:
- Lack of communication with the TRIO/SSS project staff
- Disrespectful or abusive behavior towards TRIO/SSS staff (including Tutor/Mentors) or students
*Program expectations vary based on a students' Individual Academic Success Plan and classmanship
**Virtual workshops will be offered through Canvas to accommodate students who cannot attend in person events/workshops.
***Advising sessions can be held in-person, by phone, or through video chat.
