Saving/Backing-up Documents

  1. Open your portfolio.
  2. Click Export on the document toolbar.
  3. The document will be saved to a compressed (zipped) folder. It is very important that you write down the name of the folder. The number included in the name will be your document number. It will be needed later.
  4. Click Save.
  5. Once the files are saved to the computer, you can save them to a flash drive or burn them to a CD.

To open exported LiveText documents:

  1. Open the exported folder. You will need a compression software program like WinZip.
  2. Open the LiveText folder.
  3. Open the doc folder.
  4. The doc folder may contain subfolders. Open the subfolder whose name matches your document number (see step #5 above).
  5. Open the index.html file.
  1. Open your LiveText document.
  2. Click the PRINT icon. A pop-up window will open.
  3. From the browser menu, choose EDIT then SELECT ALL. All of your text should be highlighted.
  4. From the browser menu, choose EDIT then COPY.
  5. Open Microsoft Word. Choose PASTE. Your text should copy to your MS Word document.
  6. Please note: This will NOT copy any attached or linked files. You must copy each one separately.
