Yes.  Each student who plans to graduate must submit a graduation application by the deadline for the semester you are wishing to graduate. Please see deadlines under Applying for Graduation. Even if a student does not participate in commencement, they still must apply for graduation so that their degree checkout process can be reviewed. 

The official UNA regalia is only available through the UNA Bookstore. Regalia will be shipped directly to the student. Please contact the UNA Bookstore at 256-765-4400 for additional assistance. 

No. Honor stoles will be available to pick up at your commencement ceremony. 

If you need to change your graduation date to a later semester, please reach out to us at graduation@una.edu. 

No. Students are only approved to walk in the ceremony in which they will finish their degree. If you have an extenuating circumstance, you can petition the Dean for an exception to this policy.

Diplomas are mailed approximately 4-6 weeks after commencement. We will mail it to the address provided to us on your graduation application. 

If a diploma is returned to the Office of the Registrar as undeliverable after shipping, a student will be contacted via UNA email. Diplomas will be held for one calendar year after the graduation date and will then be destroyed. The student will then have to order a replacement diploma. If a diploma is delivered damaged, a student should notify the Office of the Registrar immediately at graduation@una.edu so that a replacement diploma can be shipped at no cost.  Students have 60 days after the diploma ship date to report a damaged diploma. After this time, a student must order a replacement diploma at the cost of a re-issued diploma.
