This page applies only to International Students at the University of North Alabama. No other UNA students are eligible.

For the 2022-2023 school year, Aetna Student Health is the provider of UNA's international student health insurance. You can visit their website at www.aetnastudenthealth.com.

  1. Health insurance is required for ALL international students on a F-1 or J-1 visa as well as all J-2 dependents and J-1 exchange visitors in non-student categories.
  2. F-2 dependents are eligible to enroll at the price show below; however, insurance is not required for F-2 visa holders.
  3. F-1 students on post-completion OPT are encouraged to continue health insurance, but it is not required.
  4. Health insurance fees will be automatically charged each semester to the student account at the time of class registration. 
    1. Fall semester charges cover 5 months (August 15 through January 14).
    2. Spring semester charges cover 7 months (January 15 through August 14).
  5. The insurance fee and benefits may vary from year to year.
  6. The insurance fees are charged by policy open enrollment period and is non-refundable.

This policy has an annual deductible of $250.00
