Self-Advocacy Workshops

The purpose of the Self-Advocacy Workshop is to empower students with disabilities to vocalize and protect their rights to receiving equal access. Students will increase their knowledge and understanding of how their diagnosed disability affects them personally and professionally. Students will also learn about both state and federal laws that pertain to all individuals with disabilities. They will also learn how to effectively communicate this information and how to be their own biggest Self-Advocate through lectures, role-playing, discussions, and examples to assist students with skill development.
