Research, Teaching and Other Interests:

  • Dr. Burkhead is the author of the Student Companion to John Steinbeck and Dreams in Television Narrative: from Dallas to Buffy, and the co-editor of Joss Whedon: Conversations and Grace Under Pressure: Grey's Anatomy Uncovered.
  • She has published essays on the television programs: The Sopranos and Lost.
  • Her teaching specialties include Film and Television Studies, Folklore, and Post-Colonial Literature.
