Una's Colene Burns Finishes As First Runner Up At Miss Alabama Pageant

FLORENCE, Ala. - University of North Alabama student Colene Burns, of Hayden, finished as first runner up at the Miss Alabama Pageant in Birmingham tonight. Burns, 24, is the current Miss North Jefferson County. She held the title of Miss UNA in 2007, her first year to finish as first runner up at the Miss Alabama Pageant. She finished as second runner up last year. Burns holds two business degrees from UNA and, this summer, is studying mathematics at the university as she prepares for her doctoral studies at the University of Mississippi. Burns was one of three UNA students in this year's Miss Alabama Pageant. Others were Laura Milligan, of Muscle Shoals, and Brandi Poss, of Tuscumbia.
