A Message From President Cale About The Science & Technology Building

Dear Campus Community: This morning our Board of Trustees met to consider bids that were solicited for construction of the science and technology building. I am delighted to report that the low bid ($39.7 million) was accepted and the building will now be built. This has been a campus priority for a long time, and certainly among my highest priorities since I first toured Floyd shortly after my arrival. The project will begin very soon and is anticipated to be completed in about 20 months. In other action, the Board approved a partnership with our College of Education and the Florence City Schools to train up to 80 teachers at the master's degree level over the next four years. This is a model program that we hope will expand to other school districts in the near future. All in all, a very good day for our University. Best, Bill Cale, President
