FLORENCE, AL – The Office of Media and Public Relations at the University of North Alabama has launched a Speakers’ Bureau of faculty experts, representing a wide array of areas of expertise across a variety of fields, in order to share the breadth and depth of knowledge housed in each of UNA’s four academic colleges.
“As a regional comprehensive institution, UNA’s approach to research and scholarship reflects its mission,” said Dr. Brien Smith, Provost and Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs. “While faculty at research-intensive universities may focus on disciplinary projects that advance the frontiers of knowledge, UNA’s faculty make equally significant contributions through research and creative work. Further, faculty research addresses issues of importance to our region, such as education, health, workforce development, and community well-being, while keeping UNA’s academic programs relevant and responsive. You see that reflected as part of our Speakers’ Bureau.”
The areas of expertise included in the Speakers’ Bureau involve, but are not limited to, economics and data analytics, international affairs, social issues, the environment, mental health, and community engagement.
The Speakers’ Bureau can be found on UNA’s website at this link. Michelle Eubanks, Executive Director of the Office of Media and Public Relations maintains the Bureau and provide booking opportunities for external entities, including members of the media, civic groups, and other organizations in need of a speaker.
