UNA Climbs In Annual Ranking From U.s. News & World Report For Third Year

FLORENCE, AL - For the third consecutive year, the University of North Alabama has ranked among the best Public Regional Universities of the South category, according the 2022 list released today by U.S. News & World Report. This year, UNA moved up four slots to 13th in the category, and the institution ranked in three other notable areas.

"These designations from U.S. News & World Report affirm what so many of us already know, which is that the University of North Alabama is excelling," said Dr. Ken Kitts, UNA President. "Our students benefit from the extraordinary education they receive at the University, and the word about our quality and value is spreading beyond our region."

In addition to UNA’s regional ranking, the University was also listed as:

  • 27th in Regional Universities South, up from 40th on the 2021 ranking

  • 11th in Best Colleges for Veterans, up from 24th on the 2021 ranking

  • 21st in Undergraduate Teaching Regional Universities South

"Being ranked among the top public universities in the south as well as among the regional schools in the south, which includes public and private institutions, illustrates North Alabama’s ongoing commitment to recruiting, retaining, and graduating the best students to fill the region’s ongoing workforce development needs," said Dr. Ross Alexander, Provost and Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs.
