FLORENCE, AL – The University of North Alabama and Bevill State Community College, with locations in Carrollton, Fayette, Hamilton, Jasper, and Sumiton, have recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) that will benefit all Bevill State graduates seeking to complete their bachelor’s degree at UNA, whether online or on-campus.

“Bevill State Community College is always looking for ways to expand pathways for our students to further their academic endeavors,” said Dr. Joel Hagood, Bevill State President. “Many BSCC students graduating with their associate degree transfer to the University of North Alabama to pursue a four-year degree. This MOU between UNA and Bevill State will provide more opportunities for those students. The College looks forward to working with UNA.”

The agreement with BSCC is similar to those that have been signed with other two-year institutions in Alabama and Tennessee. The agreement is effective immediately, and Bevill State students may begin taking advantage of programs and courses that enroll every eight weeks.

“Bevill State is known for its educational opportunities in applied technology, which makes it an exceptional partner with UNA and our innovative and engaging programs focused on workforce development,” said Dr. Ross Alexander, Provost and Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs. “We are pleased to have this agreement in place and look forward to the mutual benefits both institutions and our students will realize as a result.”
