FLORENCE, AL - Growth among online graduate and undergraduate programs is the key takeaway in the second North Alabama Online Annual Report published this month by the University of North Alabama. The report covers the 2020-2021 academic year and cites a number of achievements, records, and accreditations as among the reasons for the growth.

"The second annual North Alabama Online Report finds UNA prospering in a year of great uncertainty for colleges and universities across the country," said Dr. Ross Alexander, Provost and Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs. "Online education is flourishing at UNA and is one reason we have not only endured this current crisis better than most but have also thrived."

Throughout the Covid-19 pandemic and subsequent economic turmoil of the past year, UNA has continued to prove itself a global leader in higher education. While many universities suffered as a result of the pandemic, UNA has flourished thanks, in part, to strategic investment in the expansion of North Alabama Online, the University's conglomerate of online course offerings. Consequently, UNA has experienced record enrollment in online programs for the ninth consecutive semester.

"During the last year, enrollment in online undergraduate and graduate programs has increased more than 35 percent," said Dr. Amber Paulk, Vice Provost for Academic Affairs and Dean of Graduate and Online Education. "This year's report highlights what distinguishes the UNA brand in the crowded online marketplace and has led so many new students to choose North Alabama Online for their education."
