UNA’s Sunseri Speaker Series to Feature Dr. Jerome Goddard

FLORENCE, AL – The College of Arts, Sciences, and Engineering at the University of North Alabama will host special guest lecturer and Mississippi State University Extension Professor Dr. Jerome Goddard this Saturday from 11 a.m. until noon in Room 330 of the Wendell Gunn University Commons as part of the Sunseri Speaker Series.

“The Sunseri Speaker Series highlights the connections between the arts and sciences, showing how discovery, inquiry, creativity, and expression inform one another,” said Dr. Ryan Zayac, Dean of the College. “We are very excited to welcome Dr. Goddard to campus for a program we think our students, families, and community will really ‘bug out’ about.”

Dr. Goddard is an accomplished professor who is known for his contributions to public health. He has published several articles and books and is highly commended by the British Medical Association. His talk at UNA highlights Dr. Goddard’s creative media, available on platforms including TikTok and YouTube, which he tied to his deep knowledge of medical entomology and the bug kingdom.

The Sunseri Speaker Series is made possible through a generous gift from UNA alumnus David Sunseri, who has created the series at UNA to honor his late sister, Jennifer Leigh Sunseri. The annual events highlight how arts and creativity integrate with the sciences in order to drive innovation.

Admission to Saturday’s program is free of charge, and a brief reception will follow the program.
